Run a live session

A session is you and your student in a room at the same time, on one board, with voice. It is the live half of the app; a tutorial is the half a student walks alone.

Start one

In the Teach tab, on the New session card, press Start to open a room with you leading it. Nobody types a code: your students see In a session now with your name on their Home tab and press Join. Only your own students can come in. You must be signed in; a guest is taken to the sign-in screen first.

Only one session at a time. Starting a new one ends the one you had open, for everybody in it. If you are still in somebody else's session, the app asks Leave the other session? first.

Call your students in

From inside the room, Invite students to session sends an invitation that pops up on the student's screen. Tick names one by one, or tap a group to tick everybody in it.

Inside the room

Everybody sees one board. The trainer moves on it, and students too once the trainer turns on Students may move. The left column has two parts, Board and Library:

Leaving, and coming back

Whoever started the session has End session, which ends it for everybody and sends them back to Home with The session has ended.; invitations to it stop working. Everybody else has Leave session, which ends only their part of it. If you simply walk away — another tab, the back button, closing the app — a band stays across the top of the app with the room's code in it, and Resume session puts you back on the board.

Recording

A session is not recorded. The room has no recording button, whoever is in it — not even a trainer alone waiting for a student.

Recordings you made earlier are kept: they are under Recordings on the Home tab and in the Library on Teach. On that screen the spacebar plays and pauses.
