Parent consent

What is asked of a parent, why, and how it is given.

This English text is a translation provided for convenience. The legally binding version is the Serbian original at Saglasnost roditelja. Where the two differ, the Serbian text prevails.

This page is an explanation, not a form. Consent is given on a separate page, through a link the parent receives by email when the child accepts a trainer's invitation. The text on that page is the binding one; this page exists so you know in advance what is coming.

Why it is asked

The child has an account in Mislisha, and the trainer sees their progress — assignment results, accuracy and the themes they get wrong. That is the personal data of a minor, and it requires the consent of a parent or guardian, both because the law says so and because it is the right thing to do.

A lesson is not recorded. A child's voice is never captured or kept — the app has no such option, so there is nothing for a consent to cover. A lesson can be replayed only silently, as a timeline of moves and marks on the board.

How it works

The order is always the same:

A trainer invites a student, or a student invites a trainer.
If the student is a minor, the relationship does not take effect — it waits for the parent.
The parent receives a message with a link. The link is single-use and tied to that one relationship; it is not read out to the child and is not passed on verbally.
On that page the parent sees the child's name, the trainer's name and two items to decide on. The decision is recorded together with the time and the version of the text.

Until the parent answers, the trainer receives no access to the child's data.

What the parent decides on

Both items are necessary for the child to attend lessons with that trainer:

Opening and using an account — the child has an account and works during the lesson.
The relationship with that trainer — the trainer sees the child's progress, sets homework and receives reports.

The third question, about recording the lesson, is gone. It used to exist as a separate item that could be refused; a lesson is now never recorded, so it is not asked.

What the parent can do later

At any time, by writing to privacy@chesstrainers.app:

see the data kept about the child,
delete the entire account,
withdraw consent, which also ends the relationship with the trainer.
