For parents
If your child is taught by somebody through Mislisha, you may be asked to confirm it before the lessons start. This page says what you are being asked, what the app keeps, and what you can ask for later.
Who the app is for
Mislisha is for players of thirteen and over. The app asks every account whether its holder is eighteen or older or between thirteen and seventeen — not a date of birth — and there is no answer for anyone younger.
For anyone under eighteen, a trainer's invitation does not take effect until you confirm it.
What you are asked to confirm
You get a mail with a link to a page that the app's own server serves, and you answer there — not by replying to a message, and not through anything your child can press. It asks two things, and both are needed for the lessons to start:
- The account. That your child may have an account, in which the app keeps their address and name, the moves they play, the results of puzzles and assignments, and a rating per chess theme.
- What the trainer sees. That this trainer — named on the page — may see how your child is doing: results, accuracy, and the themes they get wrong, so that they can set the next exercises.
The page also states what does not happen: the child's data is not sold or passed to advertisers, no advertising is shown to them, and a lesson is not recorded — a child's voice is neither captured nor kept.
What happens while you have not answered
The connection waits. In the app both sides see the relationship marked as waiting for a parent, and nothing passes between trainer and child until you answer — no assignments, no live session. If your address was never entered, your child's own screen offers the place to put it in, which is the only thing that row does.
The report a trainer can send you
A trainer can make a report about your child's work — what has been solved, how accurately, which themes are weak, over a period they choose — and send you a link to it. You do not need an account to read it. It is written by the app from the child's results; the trainer may add a note of their own.
Withdrawing, and asking what is kept
Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and either side can end the relationship between trainer and student in the app. You can also ask what is kept about your child and ask for it to be deleted; the privacy policy names the address to write to and the deadline for an answer.
